A Free 3-Day Symposium on Education for Advanced Technologies
March 26-28, 2017 | Providence, RI

Rhode Island’s Manufacturer + Maker Tech is a three day symposium on education for advanced technologies. Initially conceived by IYRS, Polaris MEP, RIC + RI Commerce Corp, the event has grown to include additional organizations across Rhode Island interested in re-envisioning the manufacturing marketplace, as well as the pathway to Manufacturer + Maker careers. TargetingMakers/Hackers, Manufacturers, Educators & the public at large,the event will provide insights in workforce preparation, equipment sharing & digital manufacturing through a variety of presentations, panel discussions & equipment demonstrations.

Sunday’s programming focuses on Makers & Hackers, a broad cross section of people with interests & skills in all of the aforementioned content. If any of the material mentioned above is of interest we welcome your attendance.

Monday’s symposium, including representatives of the Governor’s Office, targets manufacturers &those feeding manufacturing: design, engineering, materials, etc. Whether you are interested indesign thinking, up-skilling your workforce or the latest in equipment sharing we welcome you at the heart of the Innovation & Design District, 1 Ship Street, Providence.

Tuesday is our educator day & educators are nothing without students. We are welcoming educators & students, 8am 1pm,as schedules & coordination permit. If you are not tethered to a traditional schedule, the EStemEquipment Demo will be open until 4pm.

The latter half of each day will focus on the vision for the Mobile Maker Lab (MML), a traveling technology laboratory developed by IYRS, Polaris MEP, RIC + RI Commerce Corp. Filled with the latest in advanced manufacturing & automation, the MML will promote experiential learning,workplace innovations & statewide collaboration. The MML Design Charrettes will begin vetting design, technology & curriculum. Please refer to the MML Summary + DC Description for more information.
